Turkish Gambit 7: Whoever Plays the Turkish Gambit Wins!

Through games sent in by followers, the video shows how the Turkish Gambit becomes an effective attacking weapon for Black. The presenter stresses that it does not guarantee a win but gives aggressive positions that surprise opponents.

Yunus Emre Günebakan’s game

The first example is a game by young national-team player Yunus Emre Günebakan. Black castles quickly, pressures the centre and wins a piece through tactics around ...f4 and clever use of pins.

Common themes

The other games repeat the same themes: exploiting pins, using the d5–e4 central tension actively, bold queen and rook sacrifices, and mating attacks with checks. Followers have clearly learned patterns such as ...f5, the ...f4 counter-attack and the ...Re8 manoeuvre.
