FIDE Master, chess author, publisher and coach. Selim represented Turkey at three Chess Olympiads – Moscow 1994, Elista 1998 and Istanbul 2000 – as a member of the Turkish national team.
He is the author of 23 chess books and, as a publisher with Satranç Okulu Publications, has published 43 books in total.
A pioneer of chess video in Turkey, Selim began producing chess videos in 2005, in the very earliest days of online video. Today his YouTube channel Satranç Okulu is one of the best-known chess channels in Turkish, with more than 95,000 subscribers and over 2,400 videos on openings, master games, endgames, tournament reviews and chess history.
A close friend of Evren Ucok since their early teens, Selim introduced Evren to Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş and his family – the meeting that sparked the talent support programme. Today he writes the annotated games, news and analysis published on Chess School.
