A Famous Coach Explained the “Turkish Gambit”!

The founder of Satranç Okulu describes how a well-known coach evaluated the Turkish Gambit, which is beginning to gain international recognition. The main topic is a 40-minute analysis by Serbian-born IM Miodrag Perunovic of the Turkish Gambit book.

The book and Perunovic’s approach

The book’s sponsor, businessman and strong amateur Tolga Kısacıkoğlu, is mentioned (0:39–0:48). Perunovic refers to the book by both “Turkish Gambit” and “Elephant Gambit” and finds it very valuable for beginner and intermediate players. What surprises him most is that the book can be followed through diagrams even without a board. The presenter says he chose this format to help young people build a book-reading habit even in the digital age (0:48–1:48).

A Lichess game

After the theory section, the video moves to a game the presenter played on Lichess as a test while preparing the book (2:00–2:14). See the video for the move sequence and the result.
