In this episode FM Selim Gürcan explains the basic logic of the Turkish Gambit and a historic 1970 game in which Svetozar Gligoric faced an amateur.
The logic of the opening
When White plays exd5, Black stirs up the centre with ...e4 and then gains a development lead with ...Nc6. The video shows how to react to defensive tries like Bb5 or Na3; a disrupted castling set-up is not a weakness but can even be an endgame advantage for Black.
